I am excited about running for State Representative to move the legislature in a positive new direction that respects the taxpayer! At a time when many are disillusioned by politics, I believe it is important that common-sense community members step up to lead our state forward. It's time to replace politicians who represent government with people who are willing to represent their neighbors.
We live in a fantastic community to work, raise families or spend retirement years. We deserve leadership that will promote policy to preserve these merits. However, even in these struggling economic times, Legislators continue to introduce bills which will increase property taxes, the sales tax, the gas tax, and income taxes. I will work to reduce the tax burden on Minnesotans and remove obstacles for the many small businesses in our district to succeed.
As Representative, I will apply strong fiscal management prioritizing the budget; to get off the merry-go-round of budgeting as usual where any change is considered a "cut". The math of status quo + more money = justifiable spending is old school! Leave the investments to private enterprise and personal income and imagine the growth in the economy and the family budget!
Forget the promises of how government can solve all of our problems. The expansions of government and entitlements funded with a tax and spend mentality has created layers of ineffective, expensive bureaucracy. Taking hard-earned money out of working Minnesotans' pockets in order to increase the size and scope of state government is the wrong solution.
